Dalmia Cement is part of Dalmia Bharat Enterprises. The cement division started off Calendar Year 2011 on an impressive note with 31.4% rise in cement production to 4.16 lakh tonne and 32.2% rise in cement dispatches to 4.03 lakh tonne in January 2011.
In the ten months ended January 2011, the company recorded 11.8% rise in cement production to 37.04 lakh tonne and 11.2% rise in cement dispatches to 36.77 lakh tonne.
Dalmia Bharat Enterprises also has 45.4% stake in OCL India, which operates 5.35 million tonne cement plant in Orissa. OCL India also recorded solid 28.1% rise in cement production to 3.36 lakh tonne and 22.8% rise in cement dispatches to 3.35 lakh tonne in January 2011. In the ten months ended January 2011, OCL India recorded 13.4% rise in cement production to 27.67 lakh tonne and 13.4% rise in cement dispatches to 27.58 lakh tonne.
Dalmia Cement (Bharat) was restructured into two listed entities - Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries and Dalmia Bharat Enterprises. The cement business, refractory business, thermal power business and certain other businesses of erstwhile Dalmia Cement (Bharat) has come to the fold of Dalmia Bharat Enterprises, while the sugar business has been retained with Dalmia Cement (Bharat), which has since been renamed as Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries.
Dalmia Bharat Enterprises has been listed in bourses on 27th January 2011.
