The board of Asian Hotels has decided to invest through its wholly owned subsidiaries, up to a sum of Rs 200 crore in two separate companies, each owning a hotel property.
Both the investee companies are private limited companies in which certain directors are interested. The wholly owned subsidiaries of AHL shall make these investments based on the valuations of the assets of the investee companies.
Further, the board of AHL authorised investment by way of acquisition of shares of its associate company namely Regency Convention Centre & Hotels (RCC) from its existing shareholders for an investment of Rs 55 crore.
This was decided at the board meeting held on 30 October 2007.
Asian Hotels’ net profit rose 25.47% to Rs 17.93 crore on 27.70% growth in sales to Rs 105.56 crore in Q2 September 2007 over Q2 September 2006.
The company's principal activity is the operation and ownership of hotels in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
