The company reported net sales of Rs 91.27 crore, which was flat on YoY basis, for the quarter ended Sep 17. Increase in copper prices resulted in OPM being lower by 250 bps to 20.7% resulted in OP of Rs 18.94 crore, down by 11% YoY. Other income was down by 19% to Rs 1.98 crore. Depreciation was higher by 12% to Rs 1.39 crore. Interest cost stood at Rs 1 lakh as compared to Rs 4 lakh for Sep 16 quarter. PBT stood at Rs 19.52 crore, down by 13% YoY. After paying total tax of Rs 6.25 crore down by 12% YoY, PAT for the quarter ended Sep 17 stood at Rs 13.27 crore down by 13% YoY.
Electrical Insulation segment sales were lower by 3% to Rs 74.34 crore. PBIT of the segment stood at Rs 15.16 crore, down by 12% YoY with PBIT margin of 20.4% as compared to 22.7% for Sep 16 quarter.
Engineering & Electronics Resins segment sales stood at Rs 17.11 crore, up by 10% for Sep 17 quarter on YoY basis. PBIT of the segment stood at Rs 3.43 crore, down by 10% on YoY basis with PBIT margin of 20% as compared to 24.5% for Sep 16 quarter.
Performance for the 9 months ended Sep 17
The company reported net sales of Rs 283.73 crore, which was higher by 1% YoY basis for the 9 months ended Sep 17. Increase in copper prices resulted in OPM being lower by 190 bps to 20.4% resulted in OP of Rs 57.77 crore, down by 7% YoY. Other income was up by 15% to Rs 6.46 crore. Depreciation was higher by 7% to Rs 4.12 crore. Other income stood at Rs 22 lakh as compared to Rs 21 lakh for 9 months ended Sep 16. PBT stood at Rs 59.89 crore, down by 6% YoY. After paying total tax of Rs 19.36 crore down by 8% YoY, PAT for the 9 months ended Sep 17 stood at Rs 40.53 crore down by 5% YoY.
Electrical Insulation segment sales were flat and stood at Rs 231.54 crore. PBIT of the segment stood at Rs 46.42 crore, down by 9% YoY with PBIT margin of 20% as compared to 22% YoY.
Engineering & Electronics Resins segment sales stood at Rs 53.30 crore, up by 9% for 9 months ended Sep 17 on YoY basis. PBIT of the segment stood at Rs 10.95 crore, down by 1% on YoY basis with PBIT margin of 20.5% as compared to 22.7% for 9 months ended Sep 16.
