Profit before tax down 64.10% to Rs 4.71 crore. Provision for tax was expense of Rs 1.09 crore, compared to Rs 3.33 crore. Effective tax rate was 23.14% compared to 25.38%. Profit after tax fell 63.02% to Rs 3.62 crore.
Full year results analysis
Net sales (including other operating income) of John Cockerill India has increased 26.37% to Rs 483.70 crore. Operating profit margin has declined from 2.48% to 1.37%, leading to 29.93% decline in operating profit to Rs 6.65 crore. Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 69.70% to 68.93%. Employee cost decreased from 13.07% to 11.58%. Other expenses rose from 14.74% to 18.13%. Other income up 157.52% to Rs 16.61 crore. PBIDT rose 45.92% to Rs 23.26 crore. Provision for interest fell 71.82% to Rs 1.93 crore. Loan funds stood at Rs 0.22 crore as of 31 March 2023 to Rs 0.22 crore as of 31 March 2022. Inventories rose to Rs 23.23 crore as of 31 March 2023 from Rs 9.78 crore as of 31 March 2022. Sundry debtors were higher at Rs 133.50 crore as of 31 March 2023 compared to Rs 120.45 crore as of 31 March 2022. Cash and bank balance rose to Rs 118.51 crore as of 31 March 2023 from Rs 47.55 crore as of 31 March 2022. PBDT rose 134.65% to Rs 21.33 crore. Provision for depreciation rose 10.52% to Rs 5.15 crore. Fixed assets declined from Rs 51.83 crore as of 31 March 2022 to Rs 51.37 crore as of 31 March 2023. Intangible assets increased from Rs 0.01 crore to Rs 0.06 crore. Profit before tax grew 265.24% to Rs 16.18 crore. Provision for tax was debit of Rs 3.29 crore, compared to credit of Rs 0.21 crore. Effective tax rate was 20.33% compared to negative 4.74%. Profit after tax rose 177.80% to Rs 12.89 crore. Order book as end of Dec 2023 was Rs 800 crore. Promoters’ stake was 75.00% as of 31 March 2023 ,compared to 75.00% as of 31 March 2022 . Cash flow from operating activities increased to Rs 70.81 crore for year ended March 2023 from Rs 26.35 crore for year ended March 2022. Cash flow used in acquiring fixed assets during the year ended March 2023 stood at Rs 4.38 crore, compared to Rs 2.11 crore during the year ended March 2022.
