Cost of raw material consumed as a percentage to net sales rose 300 bps to 90.1% from 87.1% in corresponding previous quarter. Employee benefit as a percentage to net sales expenses was flat at 0.3% while other expenditure decreased 50 bps to 1.2%. The foreign exchange fluctuation on purchase of LNG is a pass–through cost to the customers and has been included in cost of materials consumed

Other income rose 114% to Rs 88.44 crore compared to Rs 41.4 crore in corresponding previous year quarter leading 5% decrease in PBIDT to Rs 936.52 crore. Interest cost fell 41% to Rs 21.54 crore while depreciation remained flat at Rs 103.7 crore. The resultant PBT increased 8% to Rs 811.28 crore. Effective tax rate increased 100 bps to 30.3% resulting 7% increase in PAT to Rs 565.31 crore.

For nine months ended December 2018 sales increased 37% to Rs 30012.23 crore as against Rs 21962.39 crore in previous year. The operating profit margins of the company fell 250 bps to 8.9% leading 7% increase in operating profits to 2666.21 crore.

Cost of raw material consumed as a percentage to net sales rose 280 bps to 89.6%. Employee benefit as a percentage to net sales too was flat at 0.3% while other expenditure decreased 40 bps at 1.3%.

Other income increased 40% to Rs 298.9 crore leading a 10% rise in PBDIT to Rs 2965.11 crore. Interest cost fell 41% to Rs 76.4 crore while depreciation remained flat at Rs 309.64 crore. The resultant PBT increased 14% to Rs 2579.07 crore.

Effective tax rate increased 220 bps to 33.5% resulting 10% increase in PAT to Rs 1715.23 crore.
