Expects capex of Rs 300 crore

|
Mahanagar Gas held a conference call to discuss the results for the quarter ended September 2018 and way forward. Managing Director- Mr. Sanjib Datta and CFO Mr. Sunil Ranade of the company addressed the call.
Highlights of the Concall
- Net sales increased 12.46% to Rs 696.51 crore in Q2FY19 compared to Q2FY18 while Net profit was up 6.2% to Rs 136.29 crore compared to Q2FY18. Net sales was up 23.6% in H1FY19 to Rs 1315.85 crore while net profit was up 6.22% to Rs 264.62 crore
- Total volumes were up 4.16% YoY in Q2FY19 to 272.3 SCM million. CNG volumes increased 3.83% YoY to 200.47 SCM million while PNG volumes rose 5.1% YoY to 71.83 SCM million.
- For H1FY19 Total volumes were up 10.67% YoY to 533.72 SCM million. CNG volumes increased 10.86% YoY to 393.55 SCM million while PNG volumes rose 10.16% YoY to 140.17 SCM million.
- Domestic PNG domestic grew 0.65% YoY to 33.51 SCM million in Q2FY19 while PNG industrial volumes rose 9.33% YoY to 38.32 SCM million.
- For H1FY19 Domestic PNG domestic grew 10.84% YoY to 66.8 SCM million while PNG industrial volumes rose 9.56% YoY to 73.37 SCM million.
- Currently MGL has 1.1 million household consumers, above 3,700 industrial & commercial consumers, 220 CNG stations, 0.65mn vehicle demand and 513 0km of pipeline.
- There has been a one-time impact of Rs 110 crore on account of the tariff revision by the regulator for the Dahej-Uran pipeline compared to Q1FY19
- There has been a spike in vehicle conversion to CNG YoY to 21,000- plus in Q2FY19 versus 10,000 in Q2FY18
- MGL has six stations in Raigad, which sell around 2,000–2,500 kg and cater to 700–800 consumers.
- MGL does not hedge as a company policy and it is able to revise prices and pass through the price increase to consumers
- The company plans to invest Rs 300 crore per year in order to grow its pipeline and CNG network. So far in 1HFY19, company has opened 3 new stations and upgraded 8 stations
