During the month of August 2022, Leather sector's Marketcap increased 1.54% to Rs 69079.07 crore, compared to 2.93% rise in total listed marketcap to Rs 27532531.66 crore.

Sector's share of total listed marketcap moved to 0.25% in August 2022 from 0.25% in July 2022 and 0.22% in August 2021.



In terms of price appreciation in the sector, there were 12 gainers and 6 losers in the month of Aug 2022. The gainers accounted for 57.14% of sector companies, losers accounted for 28.57% of sector companies, while 3% remained unchanged.

The top 3 gainers were Amin Tannery (45.71% gain), Lehar Footwears (29.62% gain) and Mirza Internatio (28.66% gain).

The 3 losers at the bottom were S R Industries (-14.58% fall), Superhouse Ltd (-12.84% fall) and Bhartiya Intl. (-8.05% fall).

During the month Bata India Ltd, Superhouse Ltd, Super Tannery Ltd, S R Industries Ltd, Phoenix International Ltd, Euro Leder Fashion Ltd, Sarup Industries Ltd, Unimode Overseas Ltd, Liberty Shoes Ltd, Mirza International Ltd, Bhartiya International Ltd, Oscar Global Ltd, Andhra Pradesh Tanneries Ltd, Mayur Leather Products Ltd, Lehar Footwears Ltd, Khadim India Ltd, Sreeleathers Ltd, Amin Tannery Ltd and Campus Activewear Ltd announced their results. Of these Euro Leder Fashion Ltd, Mirza International Ltd, Sreeleathers Ltd, Amin Tannery Ltd and Campus Activewear Ltd reported rise in net profit attributable to shareholders. Companies like Superhouse Ltd, Super Tannery Ltd and Lehar Footwears Ltd reported fall in net profit attributable to shareholders.

Companies like Bata India Ltd, Liberty Shoes Ltd, Khadim India Ltd, Phoenix International Ltd and Sarup Industries Ltd reported loss to profit

Relaxo Footwears Ltd, Bata India Ltd and Bata India Ltd became ex-dividend.

FIIs increased their shareholding in Campus Activewear Ltd from 3.69% to 5.27%, Mirza International Ltd from 3.00% to 3.42% and Bata India Ltd from 6.66% to 6.84%. FIIs reduced their shareholding in Relaxo Footwears Ltd from 3.22% to 3.15%, Sreeleathers Ltd from 5.26% to 5.16%, Liberty Shoes Ltd from 0.14% to 0.00%, Khadim India Ltd from 0.17% to 0.00% and Superhouse Ltd from 0.98% to 0.74%.

DIIs increased their shareholding in Mirza International Ltd from 0.04% to 3.11%, Bata India Ltd from 27.41% to 30.11%, Campus Activewear Ltd from 3.64% to 6.27% and Relaxo Footwears Ltd from 6.94% to 7.06%. DIIs reduced their shareholding in Khadim India Ltd from 7.02% to 6.63%.

Promoters increased their shareholding in Sreeleathers Ltd from 74.62% to 74.91% and Euro Leder Fashion Ltd from 40.78% to 40.90%. Promoters reduced their shareholding in Bata India Ltd from 52.96% to 50.16%.
