The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 11 February 2016.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 127.88 points or 0.56% at 22,823.95.
High volumes were witnessed on the counter. On BSE, 15.63 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 1.73 lakh shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 27.80 and a low of Rs 22.50 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 38 on 5 January 2016. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 15.20 on 1 October 2015. The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 11 February 2016, sliding 29.12% compared with 7.55% decline in the Sensex. The scrip had, however, outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 24.12% as against Sensex's 11.27% fall.
The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 205.23 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
Essar Shipping's total income from operations declined 10.57% to Rs 433.53 crore in Q3 December 2015 over Q3 December 2014.
Essar Shipping's operations include fleet operating and chartering, logistic services and oilfields services.
