BGR Energy Systems galloped 14.19% to Rs 367.65 on reports the company has emerged as the lowest bidder for a Rs 7298 crore-tender floated by state-run power generation firm NTPC for turbine generators. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.
Power Finance Corporation jumped 8.11% to Rs 155.90. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Sterling International Enterprises vaulted 6.74% to Rs 243.90 and was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock gained on volume of 10.11 lakh shares, higher than the two-week average daily volume of 3.17 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Tata Motors jumped 6.04% to Rs 151.10 on bargain hunting. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 137.65 in intraday trade on Tuesday, 13 September 2011.
The company's advance tax payment reportedly remained unchanged at Rs 90 crore in Q2 September 2011 over Q2 September 2010.
DB Realty gained 5.8% to Rs 59.25 and was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock gained on volume of 8.01 lakh shares, higher than the two-week average daily volume of 1.66 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
