Coal India Ltd rose for a third straight session today. The stock is quoting at Rs 403.85, up 3.71% on the day as on 12:49 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is up around 1.58% on the day, quoting at 21690.1. The Sensex is at 71801.88, up 1.56%. Coal India Ltd has added around 5.78% in last one month.

Meanwhile, Nifty Energy index of which Coal India Ltd is a constituent, has added around 9.24% in last one month and is currently quoting at 35203.85, up 4.09% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 122 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 133.13 lakh shares in last one month.

The benchmark February futures contract for the stock is quoting at Rs 407.1, up 4.52% on the day. Coal India Ltd is up 78.81% in last one year as compared to a 22.9% gain in NIFTY and a 56.37% gain in the Nifty Energy index.

The PE of the stock is 15.94 based on TTM earnings ending September 23.
