U. Saravanan has completed his B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering from Anna University and has acquired MBA from University of Madras. He has a wide experience spanning over 33 years covering both oil refinery and fertilizer industries.
He has worked as chairman & managing director of Madras Fertilizers. He was a board member of Indian Potash (IPL) and Fortune Biotech. He has also held additional charge as director (technical) of FACT.
National Fertilizers is engaged in producing and marketing urea, neem coated urea, bio-fertilizers (solid and liquid) and other allied industrial products. As of 31 March 2023, the Government of India held 74.71% stake in NFL.
The company reported consolidated net loss of Rs 235.95 crore in Q4 FY23 as compared with net profit of Rs 6.06 crore in Q4 FY22. Net sales jumped 41.1% year on year to Rs 6,267.84 crore in Q4 FY23.
The scrip was rose 0.23% to settle at Rs 70.44 on Friday 16 June 2023.
