Total expenditure increased by 5.5% YoY to Rs 415.71 crore during the quarter, primarily due to higher raw material costs (up 16.7% YoY) and higher employee expenses (up 7.7% YoY).
Interes payments fell by 33.1% YoY to Rs 11.95 crore. Depriciation charge amounced to Rs 9.16 crore (up 4.7% YoY).
Profit before tax in Q4 FY23 stood at Rs 93.30 crore, up by 20.4% from Rs 77.46 crore in Q4 FY22.
The company recorded 8.4% fall in net profit to Rs 123.62 crore despite a 1.2% rise in net sales to Rs 2,058.87 crore in FY23 over FY22.
Uttam Sugar Mills is engaged in production of sugar, ethanol and generation of power. The company operates in three business segments: sugar, cogeneration and distillery.
The scrip added 0.61% to currently trade at Rs 274.15 on the BSE.
