Rainbow Children's Medicare gained 3.10% to Rs 875.85 after the company's consolidated net profit surged to Rs 53.86 crore in Q4 FY23 from Rs 12.26 crore in Q4 FY22.

Revenue from operations increased by 49.20% YoY to Rs 316.96 crore during the quarter.

Total expenses rose by 26.07% to Rs 255.76 crore in the fourth quarter due to a sharp increase in professional fees to doctors (up 34.35% YoY), higher medical & pharmacy consumables (up 26.58% YoY) and higher employee expenses (up 28% YoY).

The firm's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) was Rs 98.01 crore in the quarter under review, against Rs 48.13 crore in the year-ago period.

Profit before tax in Q4 FY23 stood at Rs 70.10 crore, which is significantly higher as compared with a PBT of Rs 15.76 crore in Q4 FY22.

Rainbow Children's Medicare said that the strong momentum witnessed in the second and third quarter continued into the fourth quarter across all key operating metrics including outpatient footfalls, inpatient volumes and occupancy.

Occupancy during the quarter under review improved significantly to 58.82% from 39.64% in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal.

The company recroded 53.15% rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 212.38 crore on a 20.52% increase in revenue from operations to Rs 1,173.57 crore in FY23 as compared with FY22.

Dr. Ramesh Kancharla, chairman & managing director, Rainbow Children's Medicare (RCML), said: "The company is focused on executing the business plan, put forth during the IPO, of adding 1000 beds across the target markets.

The proposed expansion for the current financial year includes addition of approximately 270 beds in Central Hyderabad (60 beds), Hydernagar (50 beds), Anna Nagar (80 beds) and Sarjapur (80 beds). Additional approximately 160 beds are slated for commencement in the next financial year at Rajahmundry (100 beds) and a new spoke hospital in Bengaluru (60 beds).

Furthermore, the company aims to increase its bed count by approximately 400 across the National Capital Region by FY26-27."
