Viceroy Hotels jumped today on reports that ICICI Venture Fund has picked up a 26% stake in the company for Rs 100 crore. The deal was struck at Rs 87 per share.
The latest paid-up share capital of the company is Rs 19.97 crore.
Viceroy Hotels operates a single hotel property-- Hotel Viceroy -- at Gandhi Nagar in Hyderabad. It recently tied up with the Marriott International – one of the foremost hotel brands in the world – and will be re-christened Marriott Hyderabad.
For the quarter ended 30 September 2005, Viceroy Hotels posted a 12.82% fall in net profit to Rs 0.34 crore (Rs 0.39 crore). Net sales during the same period increased 6.29% to Rs 7.43 crore (Rs 6.99 crore).
