Morning Bells: Bond yield drops

10-year G-sec paper yield falls to 7.22%

The yield on 10-year benchmark federal paper, 07.18 GS 2033 dropped 1 basis points to 7.22% at 00:00 IST, compared with 7.23% at close in the previous trading session. The total trading volume on the central banks gilts trading platform stood at Rs 3785 crore.The weighted average rate in the overnight call money market rose to 6.30% at 15:56 IST compared with 5.50% in the previous session. The call money volume stood at Rs 12177.37 crore.
