For the quarter ended June 17, net sales were higher by 10% YoY to Rs 1456.80 crore. OPM was higher by 260 bps to 22.4%, thus resulting in a 25% rise in OP to Rs 326.71 crore. Other income was higher by 35% to Rs 93.64 crore and interest costs were Rs 0.02 crore. Depreciation was higher by 13% to Rs 95.27 crore which resulted in a 32% increase in PBT to Rs 325.06 crore. Total tax provision was higher by 19% to Rs 81.68 crore on YoY basis. Thus PAT for the quarter ended June 17 stood at Rs 243.38 crore up by 36% YoY.
For the quarter ended June 17, Exim sales, which constitute around 78% of total sales, were higher by 5% to Rs 1131.59 crore. Domestic sales were higher by 32% to Rs 325.21 crore. PBIT Margin of Exim business stood at 19.6% and PBIT stood at Rs 221.81 crore, up by 70 bps on YoY basis. PBIT margin of Domestic business stood at 8.5% and PBIT stood at Rs 27.56 crore, up by 601% YoY
Performance for 12 months ended Mar 17
For the 12 months ended Mar 17, net sales were lower by 5% YoY to Rs 5606.13 crore. OPM was higher by 390 bps to 22.2%, thus resulting in a 15% rise in OP to Rs 1246.85 crore. Other income was lower by 9% to Rs 289.24 crore and interest costs were Rs 3.66 crore. Depreciation was higher by 1% to Rs 351.82 crore which resulted in a 10% decrease in PBT to Rs 1180.61 crore. Total tax provision was lower by 34% to Rs 236.06 crore on YoY basis. There was a Prior period tax of Rs 86.53 crore pertaining to prior period income of Rs 250 crore in FY'16, thus PAT after PPI for the quarter ended Mar 17 stood at Rs 858.02 crore down by 10% YoY.
For the quarter ended Mar 17, Exim sales, which constitute around 81% of total sales, were lower by 6% to Rs 4518.21 crore. Domestic sales were lower by 1% and stood at Rs 1087.92 crore. PBIT Margin of Exim business stood at 21.5% and PBIT stood at Rs 971.35 crore, down by 9% YoY. PBIT margin of Domestic business stood at 2.6% and PBIT stood at Rs 28.61 crore, up by 21% YoY
