WPIL has to its credit a rich experience of more than 60 years in designing, developing, manufacturing, erecting, casting, commissioning and servicing and after sales and refurbishment of Pumps & Pumping Systems. These pumps whether vertical or horizontal, of various sizes, are required in micro and major irrigation systems, Barge Pump stations, river water pumping, sewage submersible, offshore, fire fighting and other industrial applications, thermal, nuclear power plants, hydro power etc. The company has operations spread across India and in International market it has operations through subsidiaries in Thailand, Australia, UK and South Africa.
For the quarter ended Dec'16, WPIL registered a 5% increase in standalone net sales to Rs 65.73 crore. OPM was however lower by 1100 bps to 12.5%, thus restricting the OP de- growth to 3% to Rs 8.22 crore. Other income was lower by 11% to Rs 1.32 crore. Interest costs was up by 19% to Rs 2.79 crore while depreciation costs was higher by 3% to Rs 0.74 crore. Thus PBT stood at Rs 6.01 crore, down by 13% YoY. After providing total tax of Rs 1.72 crore, down by 28%, standalone PAT stood at Rs 4.29 crore, down by 5% YoY.
Performance for 9 months ended Dec'16
For the 9 months ended Dec'16 period WPIL registered a 17% increase in standalone net sales to Rs 161.07 crore. OPM was however lower by 170 bps to 11.9%, thus restricting the OP growth to 2% to Rs 19.19 crore. Other income was up by 64% to Rs 5.27 crore. Interest costs was higher by 11% to Rs 24.46 crore and depreciation costs was higher by 3% to Rs 2.16 crore. Thus PBT stood at Rs 14.04 crore, up by 8% YoY. After providing total tax of Rs 4.43 crore, down by 9%, standalone PAT stood at Rs 9.61 crore, up by 18% YoY.
