• The value of production was up by 33% to Rs 141.51 crore. But the operational income for the quarter was higher by 32% (to Rs 115.10 crore). Sale for the period was 18.7% lower than value of production compared to 18.4% lower in corresponding previous period. This reflects inventory built up that will get liquidated in coming quarters.
• Operating profit margin expanded by 320 bps to 6% and that is largely due to fall in all cost heads. Material cost as proportion to sales net of stocks was down by 140 bps to 82.3%. Similarly the staff cost and other expense was lower by 90 bps (to 3.9%) and 20 bps (to 8.9%) respectively. Thus facilitated by higher sale and strong expansion in OPM, the operating profit jumped up by 181% to Rs 6.95 crore.
• Other income was lower by 7% to Rs 5.94 crore. This has moderated the growth at PBIDT level to 45% (to Rs 12.90 crore). The interest cost was up by 18% to Rs 0.09 crore. The depreciation was down by 8% to Rs 1.31 crore. Thus the PBT was up by 56% to Rs 11.50 crore.
• Taxation in absolute terms was higher by whopping 156% to Rs 2.41 crore, and the tax incidence was higher at 20.9% compared to 12.7% in the corresponding previous period. Thus growth at net profit stood moderated at 41% to Rs 9.09 crore.
