Sustains strong performance

Indian Railway Finance Corporation has posted strong 50.9% growth in the net profit to Rs 1501.48 crore in the quarter ended September 2021 (Q2FY2022). The income from operation of increased 26.28% to Rs 4690.02 crore as on 30 September 2021. Overall OPM eased to 99.40% as on 30 September 2021 from 99.50% as on 30 September 2020, leading to 26.16% rise in operating profit to Rs 4,661.70 crore. Other expenditure as a percentage of total income moved up to 0.53% from 0.43%, while staff cost increased to 0.05% from 0.04%. The provisions as percentage of total income declined to 0.03% from 0.04% as on 30 September 2021. Other income declined 92.59% to Rs 0.02 crore. Interest cost increased 16.92% to Rs 3157.13 crore. Depreciation moved up 2,491.67% to Rs 3.11 crore. PBT moved up 50.90% to Rs 1,501.48 crore. Profit after tax rose 50.90% to Rs 1,501.48 crore.

Book value of the company stood at Rs 29.8per share end September 2021.

Financial performance H1FY2022

The income from operation of Indian Railway Finance Corporation increased 25.58% to Rs 9271.58 crore as on 30 September 2021. Overall OPM has increased to 99.66% as on 30 September 2021 from 99.25% as on 30 September 2020, leading to 26.10% rise in operating profit to Rs 9,240.20 crore. Other expenditure as a percentage of total income moved down to 0.31% from 0.73% as on 30 September 2021. The staff cost as a percentage of total income declined to 0.04% from 0.04% as on 30 September 2021. The provisions as percentage of total income declined to (-) -0.01% from (-) -0.02% as on 30 September 2021.

Other income declined 77.78% to Rs 0.06 crore. Interest cost increased 14.51% to Rs 6230.62 crore. Depreciation moved up 2,600% to Rs 6.21 crore. PBT moved up 59.18% to Rs 3,003.43 crore. Profit after tax rose 59.18% to Rs 3,003.43 crore.
