Operating profit margin has declined from 31.06% to 27.30%, leading to 9.63% decline in operating profit to Rs 920.96 crore. Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) increased from 7.21% to 7.32%. Purchase of finished goods cost rose from 0.05% to 0.70%. Employee cost increased from 6.10% to 6.62%. Other expenses rose from 55.17% to 58.80%. Power and Oil fuel cost rose from 17.22% to 20.96%. Freight charges fell from 22.52% to 20.60%.
Other income rose 82.80% to Rs 153.57 crore. PBIDT fell 2.59% to Rs 1074.53 crore. Provision for interest fell 13.07% to Rs 55.55 crore. Loan funds rose to Rs 2,142.93 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 1,868.16 crore as of 30 September 2020. Inventories rose to Rs 2,062.12 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 1,679.76 crore as of 30 September 2020. Sundry debtors were lower at Rs 825.85 crore as of 30 September 2021 compared to Rs 862.17 crore as of 30 September 2020. Cash and bank balance declined from Rs 630.72 crore as of 30 September 2020 to Rs 362.84 crore as of 30 September 2021. Investments rose to Rs 8,814.38 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 7,075.01 crore as of 30 September 2020 .
PBDT fell 1.95% to Rs 1018.98 crore. Provision for depreciation fell 6.26% to Rs 290.33 crore. Fixed assets increased to Rs 7,323.29 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 7,060.57 crore as of 30 September 2020. Intangible assets increased from Rs 52.03 crore to Rs 59.42 crore.
Profit before tax down 0.12% to Rs 728.65 crore. Share of profit/loss were nil in both the periods. Provision for tax was expense of Rs 164.71 crore, compared to Rs 201.64 crore. Effective tax rate was 22.60% compared to 27.64%.
Minority interest increased 23.33% to Rs 1.11 crore. Net profit attributable to owners of the company increased 6.80% to Rs 562.83 crore.

Profit before tax grew 33.49% to Rs 1,564.71 crore. Share of profit/loss were nil in both the periods. Provision for tax was expense of Rs 369.88 crore, compared to Rs 313.94 crore. Effective tax rate was 23.64% compared to 26.78%.
Minority interest increased 27.27% to Rs 2.10 crore. Net profit attributable to owners of the company increased 39.24% to Rs 1,192.73 crore.
Equity capital stood at Rs 36.08 crore as of 30 September 2021 to Rs 36.08 crore as of 30 September 2020. Per share face Value remained same at Rs 10.00.
