Gujarat Gas reported flat net sales to Rs 2513.01 crore for the quarter ended Sep20 compared to corresponding previous year period and net profit of Rs 475.48 crore down 8%. Transmission volume during the quarter was 906 mmscm- Industrial 723 mmscm, CNG 118 mscm, Domestic 59 mscm and Commercial 6 mscm.
The company's gas sales volume has shown a robust recovery post lockdown. In industrial category, the gas sales volume is currently above pre-lockdown level. In CNG category and Commercial category currently gas sales volumes stands at - 90% and - 70% of pre-lockdown level respectively. The company is currently flowing total gas volume of -10.50 mmscmd as against FY20 average sales of 9.44 mmscmd
The company currently has a comfortable liquidity position and prepaid term loan of Rs 363 crpre during the current quarter while continuing to service its debt obligations
Operating margins of the company rose 1450 bps to 29.2%. Operating profits as a result rose 98% to Rs 733.02 crore. Interest cost was down 36% to Rs 33.87crore while depreciation rose 7% to Rs 85.62 crore resulting 143% increases in PBT to Rs 634.32 crore.
Tax expense was Rs 159.53 croer compared to tax credit of Rs 255.92 crore leading a 8% fall in PAT to Rs 474.79 crore. Considering minority interest PAT was down 8% to Rs 475.48 crore.
For half year ended Sep20 consolidated net sales rose 30% to Rs 3595.3 crore. Operating margins improved 920 bps 25.5% leading a 10% growth in operating profits to Rs 918.76 crore. Other income fell 23% to Rs 35.71 crore. Interest cost fell 29% to Rs 73.97 crore while depreciation rose 6% to Rs 167.87 crore resulting 15% increase in PBT to Rs 712.63 crore.
Tax provision was Rs 179.15 crore compared to tax credit of Rs 129.36 crore. PAT was down 29% to Rs 533.48 crore. Considering minority interest PAT was down 29% to Rs 534.56 crore.
Transmission volume during FY20 was 3454 mmscm- Industrial 2662 mmscm, CNG 543 mscm, Domestic 208 mscm and Commercial 41 mscm.
Currently the shares of Gujarat Gas are quoting at around Rs 313 at BSE.
