Net sales for Mar 19 quarter of Hikal stood at Rs 457.50 crore, up by about 17% YoY.
For the quarter, sales from the Pharmaceutical Segment stood at Rs 259.15 crore, up by 21% YoY and accounted for 57% of sales. PBIT from the same was up by 28% to Rs 39.12 crore and accounted for 56% of total PBIT with PBIT margin at 15.1% as compared to 14.2% for Mar 18 quarter.
For the quarter, sales from the Crop Protection Segment stood at Rs 198.35 crore up by 13% YoY and accounted for 43% of sales. PBIT from the same was down by 7% to Rs 30.14 crore and accounted for 44% of total. PBIT margins stood at 15.2% as compared to 18.3% for Mar 18 quarter.
OPM stood at 18.4% up by 10 bps thus resulting the OP growth of 18% to Rs 83.98 crore. Other income was lower by 97% to Rs 0.05 crore. Interest cost was higher by 1% to Rs 12.64 crore. Depreciation was up by 9% to Rs 23.23 crore thus resulting in a 23% increase in PBT to Rs 48.16 crore. After providing for total tax of Rs 14.82 crore up by 7% YoY, PAT for Mar 19 quarter was up by 32% to Rs 33.34 crore.
Performance for the 12 months ended Mar 19
Net sales for 12 months ended Mar 19 stood at Rs 1589.61 crore, up by about 23% YoY.
For the 12 months, sales from the Pharmaceutical segment stood at Rs 939.14 crore and accounted for 59% of sales. PBIT from the same was up by 31% to Rs 129.30 crore and accounted for 54% of total with PBIT margin at 13.8%. For the 12 months, sales from the Crop Protection segment stood at Rs 650.47 crore and accounted for 41% of sales. PBIT from the same was up by 29% to Rs 111.65 crore and accounted for 46% of total.
OPM stood at 18.8% up by 10 bps thus resulting in the OP growth of 23% to Rs 298.13 crore. Other income was lower by 49% to Rs 2.26 crore. Interest cost was higher by 19% to Rs 58.43 crore. Depreciation was up by 9% to Rs 92.88 crore thus resulting in a 34% growth in PBT to Rs 149.08 crore. After providing for total tax of Rs 46.01 crore up by 34% YoY, PAT for 12 months ended Mar 19 was up by 33% to Rs 103.07 crore.
The company declared a total dividend of Rs 1.2 per share of face value of Rs 2 each for FY 19.
