Expects Price situation improveswith demand pickup
The company has conducted a conference call on 11th February 2015 to discuss the financial performance for the quarter ended December 2014 and way forward. Mr. Jamshed Naval Cooper –CEO & Managing Director and Mr. Anil Sharma –Chief Financial Officer of the Company, addressed the conference call.

Key highlights

  • On like for like*basis (like for like* excludes impact of Raigad Plant which was sold on January 3, 2014.), the Company revenue increased by 33% YoY in Q4CY14. Sales volume increased by 31%. EBITDA increased by 137%. EBITDA margin increased 656 bps.

On published results basis-

  • Total income from operation (includes other operating income of Rs 8.14 crore) of the Company increased 17% YoY to Rs 418.39 crore, due to rise in sales volume. Sales volume increased by 19.4% to 1101 KT, but gross realisation went down 1.9% to Rs 3725 per tonne
  • OPM increased by 710 bps to 14.6% due to decline in operating expenses (particularly raw material cost, freight cost and employee cost). As a result, Operating Profit (EBITDA) inclined by 126% to Rs 61.2 crore.EBITDA margin (% of net sales) increased to 14.9% from 7.7% in Q4CY13. EBITDA per tonne increased to Rs 555 per tonne from Rs 294 per tonne in Q4CY13.
  • Bottom-lineof the Company saw a net loss (LAT) of Rs 9.89 crore as compared net loss (LAT) of Rs 6.63 crore corresponding previous quarter.
  • On per tonne analysis, Gross realisation softened1.9% to Rs 3725 per tonne. The freight expenses reducedby 20.7% to Rs 450 per tonne.As a result, net realisation rose 1.4% to Rs 3275 per tonne. Other operating income declined by 17.1% to Rs 74 per tonne. Total cost was down 7.7% to Rs 2794 per tonne, driven by savings in raw material costs , power and fuel costs and other fixed costs. EBITDA was higher by 89.2% to Rs 555 per tonne.
  • The company freight cost declined 20.7% to Rs 450 per tonne, due to special railway rebate during the quarter.
  • The Company extends the financial year of the Company by three months i.e., up to 31 March 2015. Thus the current financial year of the Company will be of 15 months from 01 January 2014 to 31 March 2015.
  • The Company has cement production capacity of 5.4 million tonne and clinker production capacity of 3.5 million tonnes.
  • The Company setting up 13 MW Waste Heat Recovery Plant at a capex of around Rs 1700 million which expected it to be operational by the end of 2015.The Company also plans a capex of Rs 30 crore for Fly Ash plant which expected to commence in Q1CY16.
  • The Company debt on book of account was around Rs 1K crore. The Company expects debt repayment to commence from CY16 onwards.
  • The Company has fuel mix of 60% pet-coke and rest is from linkage coal. The pet-coke prices seeing a price decrement inline with drop in crude oil prices. The average pet-coke price was Rs 9000 per tonne.
  • The Company is actively looking for acquisitions with key focus on central region where the company hold strong command.
  • The cement price volatility dependent on demand on the market and the Company expects price volatility reduces once demand situation improveswith the commencement of government various projects including infrastructure development, smart cities etc.
