Targets disbursements growth of 15%, sees loan growth in double digits margins at 2.4-2.5% in FY2023
LIC Housing Finance conducted a conference call on 19 May 2022 discuss its financial results for the quarter ended March 2022. Y. Viswanatha Gowd, MD&CEO, Sudipto Sil, CFO of the company addressed the call:

Highlights:

The year began with the impact of the second wave of covid-19. However, the economic activity has improved sharply, as reflected by the turnaround in the profitability of the company. The company has also showed a good improvement in the asset quality.

Asset under management of the company has crossed a milestone of Rs 2.5 lakh crore end March 2022, while rising 8% end March 2020 over March 2021.

Individual home loan portfolio of the company has increased 13% end March 2022.

The company has recorded disbursement of Rs 19315 crore in Q4FY2022 compared with Rs 22362 crore in Q4FY2021 and Rs 173770 crore in Q3FY2022.

The company has maintained healthy margins at 2.65% against 2.65% in same quarter last year.

There is no one off impact on NIM in Q4FY2022.

The growth momentum has been strong despite interest rates rising.

The company was cautious in the project loan segment in FY2022, while segment is looking good for FY2023 and the company expects the share of project loan disbursement to rise from 5% in FY2022 to 10% in FY2023

The company has been able to recover NPAs amounting to Rs 350 crore from high value accounts in Q4FY2022.

The company has also witnessed decline in the credit cost in Q4FY2022 as provisions were front loaded in the earlier quarter.

The collection efficiency was at 99% in Q4FY2022.

The company has witnessed decline in cost of funds by 17 bps in Q4FY2022.

An incremental cost of funds stood at 5.14% in Q4FY2022.

The company has witnessed 115 bps decline in cost of funds in FY21 and another 41 bps in FY22.

The yield on loans for the company have increased in Q4FY2022 and further moved up in the first two months of FY2022.

About 90% of the loan book is on a floating rate basis, while the company has also increased the lending rate in January 2022 across all product categories.

Disbursements were impacted in Q4FY2022 due to third wave of the covid-19 in January 2022.

The company is targeting 15% growth in disbursements for FY20232.

Overall AUM growth would be in double digits for FY2023.

The net interest margin would be in the range of 2.4-2.5% in FY2023.

Segment wise GNPA in home loan segment declined to 1.74%, retails loans 8.4% and project loan stood at 18.04% end March 2022.

The PCR on stage 3 loans have increased to 44% from 40% last year.

The exposure under ECLGS scheme stands at Rs 926 crore end March 2022.

The company has implemented new RBI NPA recognition leading impact of Rs 227 crore on provisions.

There were no major slippages in Q4FY2022, while write offs were also nil.

The restructured loan book of the company stands at 3% of AUM or Rs 7800 crore, of which restructured loans in the project loan segment were at Rs 3900 crore and retail segment at Rs 3940 crore.
