The announcement was made after market hours on Wednesday, 19 December 2012.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 86.71 points, or 0.45%, to 19,389.29.
On BSE, 1.72 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 79,661 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 263.10 and a low of Rs 276.36 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 373.90 on 1 March 2012. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 172.55 on 2 January 2012.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 19 December 2012, rising 0.13% compared with the Sensex's 6.20% rise. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 4.64% as against Sensex's 5.30% rise.
The small-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 72.16 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
BGR Energy Systems said it received the notification of award (NoA) for steam turbine and generators for NTPC's Lara 2x800 megawatts (MW) super thermal power project (STPP) in Chhattisgarh.
The order is valued at Rs 1548 crore. The contract provides for price variation and foreign exchange variation risk protection.
The bid for LARA project opened on 15 September 2011. BGR Energy emerged as the lowest bidder competing amongst Bhel, L&T and Toshiba. The issue of NoA was delayed due to land acquisition and environmental clearance issues. The 800 MW STG units will be supplied in 44 and 48 months, BGR said in a statement.
As on date, BGR Energy's order book stood at Rs 14077 crore, which is 4.09 times its year ended March 2012 net sales of Rs 3444.53 crore.
BGR Energy Systems' net profit fell 32.4% to Rs 34.73 crore on 18.7% decline in net sales to Rs 626.49 crore in Q2 September 2012 over Q2 September 2011.
