The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 13 January 2012, rising 1.13% compared with Sensex's 0.95% gain. The scrip had, however, underperformed the market over the past one quarter, falling 10.17% as against Sensex's 4.32% fall.

On implementation of the policy laid down by the board of directors as mentioned in the Directors Report for the year ended 31 March 2011, there has been reduced dependence on profits generated from sale of investments, which is reflected in lower profits for the quarter and nine months ended 31 December 2011, Tata Investment Corporation said.
Tata Investment Corporation said that profit from ordinary activities before tax, excluding profit on sale of investments, increased to Rs 15.34 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2011 from Rs 10.49 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2010. Profit from ordinary activities before tax, excluding profit on sale of investments, increased to Rs 99.01 crore for the nine months ended 31 December 2011 from Rs 75.17 crore for the nine months ended 31 December 2010.
The mid-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 55.10 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
