Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 187.30 points, or 1.11%, to 17,063.84.
On BSE, 4.65 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 1.17 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 377.70 and a low of Rs 358.40 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 296 on 26 August 2011. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 856 on 17 September 2010.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month until 15 September 2011, gaining 6.83% compared with the Sensex's 0.22% gain. The scrip had underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 26.29% as against 6.93% decline in the Sensex.
The mid-cap engineering company has an equity capital of Rs 72.16 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
BGR Energy Systems after market hours on Thursday, 15 September 2011, announced that it had emerged as the lowest bidder in the tender floated by NTPC for supply of nine units of 800 megawatts (MW) steam turbine and generator units. "We are awaiting complete technical and commercial details of bids in this regard. However, we have gathered that we are the lowest bidder and would be awarded with contract for supply of five steam turbine and generator units for a value of about Rs. 3500 Crore," BGR Energy Systems said in a statement.
Ahead of the announcement, the BGR Energy stock had surged 14.19% to Rs 367.65 on Thursday, 15 September 2011.
BGR Energy Systems' net profit fell 17% to Rs 50.25 crore on 19.2% decline in net sales to Rs 731.18 crore in Q1 June 2011 over Q1 June 2010.
BGR Energy Systems undertakes turnkey project engineering and contracting. It supplies systems and equipment for power and oil & gas sector.
