Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 182.12 points, or 0.98%, to 18,352.57.
On BSE, 51,000 shares were traded in the counter compared with average volume of 38,000 shares over the past two weeks.
The stock hit a high of Rs 53 and a low of Rs 50.75 so far during the day.
Finolex Cables' net sales rose 16.29% to Rs 531.90 crore in Q4 March 2011 over Q4 March 2010.
Net profit rose 50.61% to Rs 86.78 crore on 26.25% rise in net sales to Rs 2006.38 crore in the year ended March 2011 over the year ended March 2010.
The board of Finolex Cables has recommended a dividend Rs 0.70 per share for the year ended March 2011.
The company informed that it had formed a 50:50 joint venture with US-listed Corning Incorporated to market select telecommunication products in India. The venture is expected to be incorporated this year, Finolex added.
