Hindustan Oil Exploration Company surged 9.45% to Rs 222.95 on BSE after crude oil prices recently crossed $91 a barrel mark on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Higher crude oil prices augurs well for oil exploration firm as it will boost realizations from crude sales. It topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.
Bajaj Finserv advanced 3.85% to Rs 472.60 and was the second biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company announces its Q3 December 2010 results on 18 January 2011.
Hindustan Copper jumped 2.85% to Rs 340.65 and It was the third biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock gained on higher volume of 3.67 lakh shares, compared with an average daily volume of 0.61 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Torrent Power gained 2.65% to Rs 273.50 and was the fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock gained on higher volume of 0.49 lakh shares, compared with an average daily volume of 0.21 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Zee Entertainment Enterprises rose 2.61% to Rs 139.65 on reports the company has launched four channels -- Zee TV APAC, Zee Cinema, Zing and Zee Salaam -- on Fetch TV in Australia. It was the fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
