Ashok Leyland gains after total sales rises 9% YoY in September
|
|
Ashok Leyland rose 1.13% to Rs 178.95 after the company's total vehicle sales increased 9% to 19,202 units in September 2023 as compared with 17,549 units sold in September 2022.

|
The company's total medium & heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) sales jumped 13% YoY to 12,752 units in September 2023 and light commercial vehicles (LCV) sales rose 3% to 6,450 units in last month.
The company's domestic sales of commercial vehicles in September 2023 aggregated to 18,193 units, higher by 10% compared with same period last year.
Ashok Leyland is engaged in manufacture and sale of a wide range of commercial vehicles. The company also manufactures engines for industrial and marine applications, forgings and castings.
The company reported net profit of Rs 576 crore in Q1 FY24, up by more than eight times as compared with a PAT of Rs 68 crore in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 8,189 crore as against Rs 7,223 crore in Q1 FY23, up 13.4% YoY.
