Ashok Leyland total sales rises 10% YoY in August
Ashok Leyland announced that total vehicle sales jumped by 10% to 15,576 units in August 2023 from 14,121 units in August 2022.
While medium & heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) sales increased 17% YoY to 9,763 units, total light commercial vehicles (LCV) sales rose 1% to 5,813 last month.

The company's domestic sales of commercial vehicles during the period under review aggregated to 14,545 units, higher by 9% compared with the same period last year.

Ashok Leyland is engaged in manufacture and sale of a wide range of commercial vehicles. The company also manufactures engines for industrial and marine applications, forgings and castings.

The company reported net profit of Rs 576 crore in Q1 FY24, up by more than eight times as compared with a PAT of Rs 68 crore in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 8,189 crore as against Rs 7,223 crore in Q1 FY23, up 13.4% YoY.

The scrip rose 0.16% to Rs 184 on the BSE.
