The board of Indiabulls Real Estate has approved the appointment of Atul Chandra as the chief operating officer (COO) of the company. This decision, which was recommended by the nomination & remuneration committee, is set to come into effect from 28 August 2023.
Atul Chandra joined Indiabulls Real Estate in April 2021 as the senior vice president. He holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from Jiwaji University, Gwalior. He is also a qualified chartered accountant and an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
He has amassed over 24 years of experience in various domains of real estate development, asset management, audit, accounting, investment advisory, banking, and the financial services industry. Prior to joining Indiabulls Real Estate, he held key positions at renowned companies like Samsara Finance as the chief investment officer, Capri Global Capital as associate director, and worked with ICICI Bank, Union Bank of India, and Corporation Bank.
Indiabulls Real Estate is engaged in construction and development of residential, commercial and SEZ project. It reported net loss of Rs 679.55 crore Q1 June 2023 as against net loss of Rs 51.96 crore in Q1 June 2022. Net sales rose 29.25% YoY to Rs 195.87 crore in Q1 June 2023.
Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate jumped 3.69% to Rs 74.20 on 28 August 2023.
