Dr Lal PathLabs gains as Q1 PAT climbs 43% YoY to Rs 83 cr
Dr Lal PathLabs advanced 2.93% to Rs 2,486.05 after the company's consolidated net profit jumped 43.15% to Rs 82.6 crore in Q1 FY24 from Rs 57.7 crore recorded in Q1 FY23.

Revenue from operations grew by 7.62% to Rs 541 crore in the quarter ended 30 June 2023.

Non-covid revenue was at Rs 528 crore (up 9.7% YoY) and covid & allied revenue stood at Rs 13 crore (down 39.9% YoY) during the period under review.

Profit before tax in Q4 FY23 stood at Rs 117.5 crore, registering a growth of 44.35% from Rs 81.4 crore in Q1 FY23.

Normalised EBITDA jumped 22.7% to Rs 154 crore during the quarter as against Rs 125 crore reported in Q1 FY23. Normalised EBITDA margin improved to 28.4% in Q1 FY24 as compared to 25% recorded in the corresponding quarter previous year.

Dr. Om Manchanda, managing director said, “Over the next few years, we expect a rapid shift of market share from unorganized to organized, driven by changing industry dynamics and certain intrinsic benefits available to large organised players. Our omnichannel focus is further accelerating this shift as we seamlessly transport samples and deliver reports conveniently with best-in-class patient experience.

We continue to focus on highly specialized segments of pathology testing. Our approach has been to focus on these segments through Centre of Excellence (CoE).”

Bharath Uppiliappan, chief executive officer said, “In Q1 FY24 we served 6.9 million patients generating a revenue of Rs 541 crore with a growth of 8%, Non Covid growth of 10%. This was largely led by Sample growth of 6% and higher realization.”

Meanwhile, the company's board has declared an interim dividend of Rs 6 per equity share for FY24. The record date for the same is fixed on 11 August 2023.

Dr. Lal PathLabs is a provider of diagnostic and related healthcare tests and services in India. The company offer patients and healthcare providers a broad range of diagnostic and related healthcare tests and services for use in core testing, patient diagnosis and the prevention, monitoring and treatment of disease and other health conditions. As on 31 March 2023 the company has 277 clinical laboratories, 5,102 patient service centers (PSCs) and 10,938 pick-up points (PUPs).
