Coal India Ltd rose for a third straight session today. The stock is quoting at Rs 229.6, up 1.03% on the day as on 12:49 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is up around 0.83% on the day, quoting at 19130.1. The Sensex is at 64463.11, up 0.86%. Coal India Ltd has dropped around 4.83% in last one month.

Meanwhile, Nifty Auto index of which Coal India Ltd is a constituent, has dropped around 3.22% in last one month and is currently quoting at 24554.45, up 0.37% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 29.26 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 118.36 lakh shares in last one month.

The benchmark July futures contract for the stock is quoting at Rs 230.5, up 0.94% on the day. Coal India Ltd is up 25.29% in last one year as compared to a 21.45% spurt in NIFTY and a 2.16% spurt in the Nifty Auto index.

The PE of the stock is 9.46 based on TTM earnings ending March 23.
