Bandhan Bank rises after deposits increase by over 12% YoY in Q4 FY23
Bandhan Bank advanced 1.03% to Rs 206.20 after the bank's total deposits rose by 12.2% to Rs 1,08,069 crore in the quarter ended 31 March 2023 from Rs 96,331 crore recorded in the quarter ended 31 March 2022.

The bank's total deposits are higher by 5.7% as compared with Rs 1,02,283 crore reported in the quarter ended 31 December 2022.

Bulk deposits aggregated to Rs 31,125 crore, up 42.2% YoY but down 0.3% QoQ.

Retail to total deposits ratio stood at 71% in the quarter ended 31 March 2023 as against 77% in the quarter ended 31 March 2022 and 69% in the quarter ended 31 December 2022.

CASA ratio stood at 39.3% in the quarter ended 31 March 2023 as against 41.6% in the quarter ended 31 March 2022 and 36.4% in the quarter ended 31 December 2022.

Loans & advances (on book + off book + TLTRO + PTC) rose by 9.8% to Rs 1,09,112 crore in the quarter ended 31 March 2023 from Rs 99,338 crore in the quarter ended 31 March 2022.

On a sequential basis, the loan book has increased by 11.6%. Loans & advances in the quarter ended 31 December 2022 aggregated to Rs 97,787 crore.

Bandhan Bank said that the loans & advances as on 31 March 2023 is after reducing NPA portfolio sale to ARC amounting to Rs 2,316 crore.

It further stated that loans & advances includes short-term loans against fixed deposit amounting to Rs 2,151 crore. Adjusting for the same, the quarter-on-quarter loans and advances growth will be 9.4%.

The bank's LCR as on 31 March 2023 stood approximately at 157%.

Collection efficiency for the month of March 2023 was approximately 98.5% as compared with 98% in December 2022. The collection efficiency emerging entrepreneurs business (EEB) (micro) segment and that of non-EEB segment was 98.5% in March 2023.

"In EEB segment, zero+ days past due (DPD) (without considering sale of NPA portfolio to ARC) in absolute amount as on 31 March 2023 is lower than 31 December 2022,” Bandhan Bank said in a statement.

Bandhan Bank operates as a commercial bank. The banking outlets as on 31 December 2022, stood at 5,723. The network consists of 1,250 branches, 4,473 banking units as against 1,176 branches and 4,450 banking units as on December 31, 2021.

The private lender's net profit tumbled 66.17% to Rs 290.57 crore in Q3 FY23 as against Rs 858.97 crore recorded in Q3 FY22. Total income grew 17.56% YoY to Rs 4,840.94 crore in the quarter ended 31 December 2022.
