Coal India Ltd fell 4.83% today to trade at Rs 235.25. The S&P BSE Metal index is down 1.02% to quote at 20235.82. The index is up 8.6 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Steel Authority of India Ltd decreased 0.64% and Vedanta Ltd lost 0.51% on the day. The S&P BSE Metal index went up 2.28 % over last one year compared to the 1.46% surge in benchmark SENSEX.

Coal India Ltd has lost 0.44% over last one month compared to 8.6% gain in S&P BSE Metal index and 6.37% rise in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 2.23 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 5.17 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 263.3 on 09 Nov 2022. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 139.2 on 20 Dec 2021.
