Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd rose 4.08% today to trade at Rs 16.85. The S&P BSE Telecom index is up 0.85% to quote at 996.78. The index is up 0.5 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd increased 2.25% and GTPL Hathway Ltd added 2.03% on the day. The S&P BSE Telecom index went down 40.14 % over last one year compared to the 6.81% surge in benchmark SENSEX.
