The key equity indices traded with moderate gains in morning trade. Sensex hit an all time high of 63,588.31 and Nifty traded above 18,850 level. Media shares gained after witnessing selling pressure for the past two trading sessions.
At 10:25 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was up 187.80 points or 0.30% to 63,515.50. The Nifty 50 index rose 45.10 points or 0.24% to 18,861.80.
The broader market outperformed the frontline indices. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index gained 0.87% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index rose 0.75%.
The market breadth was strong. On the BSE, 2,082 shares rose and 1,118 shares fell. A total of 164 shares were unchanged.
Buzzing Index:
The Nifty Media index advanced 2.30% to 1,809.05. The index declined 2.1% in past two trading sessions.
Zee Entertainment Enterprises (up 7.67%), Nazara Technologies (up 3.67%), Network 18 Media & Investments (up 2.12%), Dish TV India (up 2.02%), Sun TV Network (up 2.02%), Hathway Cable & Datacom (up 0.97%), Navneet Education (up 0.12%) advanced.
On the other hand, New Delhi Television (down 0.76%), PVR Inox (down 0.62%) declined.
Stocks in Spotlight:
Pidilite Industries rose 0.43% after the company announced that it has launched manufacturing facilities under its two joint ventures, Pidilite Litokol (PLPL) and Tenax Pidilite (TPPL) in Amod, Gujarat. Tenax offers some of the best product solutions for the installation and upkeep of marble and granite stones. Litokol's Starlike range of quartz-based technology epoxy grouts are stain proof, nonabsorbent and highly suitable for both interior and exterior floor and wall applications, even in severe operating conditions.
Satin Creditcare Network rallied 5.93% after the company announced that its board has approved raising upto Rs 54 crore by issuing non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on private placement basis.
G R Infraprojects added 2.12% after the company said that its wholly owned subsidiary, GR Logistics Park (Indore) has executed concession agreement with National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for Rs 758.10 crore on 19 June 2023.
