Chemplast Sanmar has decided to sub-divide each equity share of Rs 10 each into 10 equity shares of Re 1 each.

The members of the company have also approved proposals to convert the mercury-based caustic-soda manufacturing process at Mettur to a membrane-based process for Rs 80 crore and to set up a coal-based power-generation plant that will require about Rs 220 crore.

Funding plans, including capital raising, for these capital expenditure proposals and the 1,70,000 tpa PVC project at Cuddalore, are being evaluated by the company which will inform about any further development in this regard.
