PAT Up 29.61%
For the quarter ending Dec 2021, standalone net sales (including other operating income) of Ruchi Soya Industries has increased 50.94% to Rs 5,995.03 crore compared to quarter ended Dec 2020.  Sales of Oils segment has gone up 43.56% to Rs 5,098.99 crore (accounting for 75.19% of total sales).  Sales of Vanaspati segment has gone up 65.51% to Rs 347.94 crore (accounting for 5.13% of total sales).  Sales of Seed Extraction segment fell 10.84% to Rs 613.48 crore (accounting for 9.05% of total sales).  Sales of Others segment has gone up 634.41% to Rs 273.71 crore (accounting for 4.04% of total sales).  Sales of Food Products segment has gone up 159.65% to Rs 431.13 crore (accounting for 6.36% of total sales).  Sales of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment has gone up 12.59% to Rs 16.64 crore (accounting for 0.25% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales rose Rs 696.44 crore to Rs 786.86 crore.  

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has jumped 48.40% to Rs 308.22 crore.  PBIT of Oils segment rose 20.12% to Rs 178.47 crore (accounting for 57.90% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Vanaspati segment rose 258.26% to Rs 13.79 crore (accounting for 4.47% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Seed Extraction segment fell 31.38% to Rs 26.95 crore (accounting for 8.75% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Others segment rose 7,005.98% to Rs 58.89 crore (accounting for 19.11% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Food Products segment rose 87.99% to Rs 22.33 crore (accounting for 7.25% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment rose 137.06% to Rs 7.78 crore (accounting for 2.52% of total PBIT).  

PBIT margin of Oils segment fell from 4.18% to 3.50%.  PBIT margin of Vanaspati segment rose from 1.83% to 3.96%.  PBIT margin of Seed Extraction segment fell from 5.71% to 4.39%.  PBIT margin of Others segment rose from 2.22% to 21.52%.  PBIT margin of Food Products segment fell from 7.15% to 5.18%.  PBIT margin of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment rose from 22.21% to 46.76%.  Overall PBIT margin rose from 4.45% to 4.54%.  

Operating profit margin has declined from 6.03% to 5.50%, leading to 37.68% rise in operating profit to Rs 329.71 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 83.34% to 77.76%.   Purchase of finished goods cost rose from 2.43% to 9.98%.   Employee cost decreased from 0.88% to 0.80%.   Other expenses fell from 7.21% to 5.85%.   

Other income fell 16.04% to Rs 15.96 crore.  PBIDT rose 33.73% to Rs 345.67 crore.  Provision for interest fell 6.32% to Rs 91.52 crore.  Loan funds rose to Rs 3,641.99 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 3,594.93 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Inventories rose to Rs 2,623.61 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 1,636.84 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Sundry debtors were higher at Rs 641.01 crore as of 30 September 2021 compared to Rs 353.49 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Cash and bank balance declined from Rs 663.60 crore as of 30 September 2020 to Rs 381.31 crore as of 30 September 2021.  Investments declined from Rs 38.23 crore as of 30 September 2020 to Rs 34.72 crore as of 30 September 2021.  

PBDT rose 58.05% to Rs 254.15 crore.  Provision for depreciation down 1.12% to Rs 33.68 crore.  Fixed assets declined from Rs 3,519.41 crore as of 30 September 2020 to Rs 3,452.20 crore as of 30 September 2021.  Intangible assets increased from Rs 1,515.77 crore to Rs 1,529.89 crore.  

Profit before tax grew 73.95% to Rs 220.47 crore.  Provision for tax remained nil

Profit after tax rose 29.61% to Rs 164.27 crore.  

Equity capital stood at Rs 59.15 crore as of 30 September 2021 to Rs 59.15 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Per share face Value remained same at Rs 2.00.  

Promoters’ stake was 98.90% as of 30 September 2021 ,compared to 98.94% as of 30 September 2020 .  

 

For year-to-date (YTD) results analysis

Net sales (including other operating income) of Ruchi Soya Industries has increased 60.53% to Rs 11,261.19 crore.  Sales of Oils segment has gone up 53.78% to Rs 9,666.05 crore (accounting for 75.31% of total sales).  Sales of Vanaspati segment has gone up 66.96% to Rs 582.22 crore (accounting for 4.54% of total sales).  Sales of Seed Extraction segment rose 26.63% to Rs 1,490.74 crore (accounting for 11.62% of total sales).  Sales of Others segment has gone up 408.18% to Rs 356.27 crore (accounting for 2.78% of total sales).  Sales of Food Products segment has gone up 134.86% to Rs 705.27 crore (accounting for 5.50% of total sales).  Sales of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment has gone up 17.55% to Rs 33.81 crore (accounting for 0.26% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales rose Rs 1,195.91 crore to Rs 1,573.16 crore.  

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has jumped 103.52% to Rs 635.14 crore.  PBIT of Oils segment rose 86.86% to Rs 417.84 crore (accounting for 65.79% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Vanaspati segment rose 270.94% to Rs 23.47 crore (accounting for 3.70% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Seed Extraction segment rose 30.90% to Rs 65.44 crore (accounting for 10.30% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Others segment rose 4,145.90% to Rs 69.28 crore (accounting for 10.91% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Food Products segment rose 93.16% to Rs 43.21 crore (accounting for 6.80% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment rose 95.22% to Rs 15.89 crore (accounting for 2.50% of total PBIT).  

PBIT margin of Oils segment rose from 3.56% to 4.32%.  PBIT margin of Vanaspati segment rose from 1.81% to 4.03%.  PBIT margin of Seed Extraction segment rose from 4.25% to 4.39%.  PBIT margin of Others segment rose from 2.33% to 19.45%.  PBIT margin of Food Products segment fell from 7.45% to 6.13%.  PBIT margin of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment rose from 28.30% to 47.00%.  Overall PBIT margin rose from 3.80% to 4.95%.  

Operating profit margin has jumped from 5.17% to 5.87%, leading to 82.03% rise in operating profit to Rs 660.74 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 83.82% to 79.69%.   Purchase of finished goods cost rose from 2.98% to 8.26%.   Employee cost decreased from 0.98% to 0.79%.   Other expenses fell from 7.04% to 5.32%.   

Other income up 38.45% to Rs 45.8 crore.  PBIDT rose 78.39% to Rs 706.54 crore.  Provision for interest fell 4.79% to Rs 181.07 crore.  Loan funds rose to Rs 3,641.99 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 3,594.93 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Inventories rose to Rs 2,623.61 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 1,636.84 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Sundry debtors were higher at Rs 641.01 crore as of 30 September 2021 compared to Rs 353.49 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Cash and bank balance declined from Rs 663.60 crore as of 30 September 2020 to Rs 381.31 crore as of 30 September 2021.  Investments declined from Rs 38.23 crore as of 30 September 2020 to Rs 34.72 crore as of 30 September 2021.

Equity capital stood at Rs 59.15 crore as of 30 September 2021 to Rs 59.15 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Per share face Value remained same at Rs 2.00.  

Promoters’ stake was 98.90% as of 30 September 2021 ,compared to 98.94% as of 30 September 2020 .  

Cash flow from operating activities decreased to Rs 251.92 crore for YTD ended September 2021 from Rs 295.25 crore for YTD ended September 2020.  Cash flow used in acquiring fixed assets during the YTD ended September 2021 stood at Rs 18.29 crore, compared to Rs 7.26 crore during the YTD ended September 2020.  


Full year results analysis

Net sales (including other operating income) of Ruchi Soya Industries has increased 24.40% to Rs 16,318.63 crore.  Sales of Oils segment has gone up 29.61% to Rs 14,505.36 crore (accounting for 76.61% of total sales).  Sales of Vanaspati segment has gone up 21.94% to Rs 845.84 crore (accounting for 4.47% of total sales).  Sales of Seed Extraction segment rose 8.31% to Rs 2,893.86 crore (accounting for 15.28% of total sales).  Sales of Others segment has gone up 1.34% to Rs 159.96 crore (accounting for 0.84% of total sales).  Sales of Food Products segment has gone down 11.69% to Rs 480.56 crore (accounting for 2.54% of total sales).  Sales of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment has gone down 17.97% to Rs 47.49 crore (accounting for 0.25% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales rose Rs 2,199.31 crore to Rs 2,614.44 crore.  

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has jumped 167.77% to Rs 849.89 crore.  PBIT of Oils segment rose 222.89% to Rs 648.05 crore (accounting for 76.25% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Vanaspati segment rose 203.09% to Rs 18.10 crore (accounting for 2.13% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Seed Extraction segment rose 84.54% to Rs 124.41 crore (accounting for 14.64% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Others reported profit of Rs 5.06 crore compared to loss of Rs 14.17 crore.  PBIT of Food Products segment rose 122.46% to Rs 43.64 crore (accounting for 5.13% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment fell 71.94% to Rs 10.62 crore (accounting for 1.25% of total PBIT).  

PBIT margin of Oils segment rose from 1.79% to 4.47%.  PBIT margin of Vanaspati segment rose from 0.86% to 2.14%.  PBIT margin of Seed Extraction segment rose from 2.52% to 4.30%.  PBIT margin of Others segment rose from negative 8.98% to 3.16%.  PBIT margin of Food Products segment rose from 3.60% to 9.08%.  PBIT margin of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment fell from 65.38% to 22.37%.  Overall PBIT margin rose from 2.07% to 4.49%.  

Operating profit margin has jumped from 3.06% to 5.85%, leading to 137.98% rise in operating profit to Rs 954.03 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 85.36% to 83.98%.   Purchase of finished goods cost rose from 2.93% to 3.11%.   Employee cost decreased from 1.16% to 0.84%.   Other expenses fell from 7.51% to 6.35%.   

Other income up 11.74% to Rs 64.34 crore.  PBIDT rose 122.13% to Rs 1018.37 crore.  Provision for interest up 230.09% to Rs 370.72 crore.  Loan funds rose to Rs 3,659.92 crore as of 31 March 2021 from Rs 3,584.13 crore as of 31 March 2020.  Inventories rose to Rs 2,363.36 crore as of 31 March 2021 from Rs 1,354.61 crore as of 31 March 2020.  Sundry debtors were higher at Rs 438.42 crore as of 31 March 2021 compared to Rs 273.99 crore as of 31 March 2020.  Cash and bank balance declined from Rs 455.26 crore as of 31 March 2020 to Rs 386.69 crore as of 31 March 2021.  Investments rose to Rs 30.39 crore as of 31 March 2021 from Rs 20.19 crore as of 31 March 2020 .  

PBDT rose 87.10% to Rs 647.65 crore.  Provision for depreciation down 1.86% to Rs 133.25 crore.  Fixed assets declined from Rs 3,579.35 crore as of 31 March 2020 to Rs 3,465.42 crore as of 31 March 2021.  Intangible assets increased from Rs 1,515.85 crore to Rs 1,515.86 crore.  

Profit before tax grew 144.51% to Rs 514.40 crore.  Provision for tax was credit of Rs 166.37 crore, compared to credit of Rs 14 crore.  Effective tax rate was negative 32.34% compared to negative 0.18%.

Profit after tax fell 91.13% to Rs 680.77 crore.  

Equity capital stood at Rs 59.15 crore as of 30 September 2021 to Rs 59.15 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Per share face Value remained same at Rs 2.00.  

Promoters’ stake was 98.90% as of 31 March 2021 ,compared to 99.03% as of 31 March 2020 .  Promoters pledged stake was 99.97% as of 31 March 2021 ,compared to 99.84% as of 31 March 2020 .  

Cash flow from operating activities has turned positive Rs 247.27 crore for year ended March 2021 from negative Rs 60.88 crore for year ended March 2020.  Cash flow used in acquiring fixed assets during the year ended March 2021 stood at Rs 21.34 crore, compared to Rs 19.37 crore during the year ended March 2020. 

Other Highlights

The Company plans to expand its existing product portfolio of Nutraceuticals products.

During the Nine months period ended December 31, 2021, the Company has acquired with effect from May 21, 2021 biscuits and associated bakery products business including the manufacturing facilities from Patanjali Natural Biscuits under a business transfer agreement for slump consideration of Rs 6,002.50 Lakh on a going concern basis.
