On consolidated basis 

Quarter ended Sep 2021 compared with Quarter ended Sep 2020. 

Net sales (including other operating income) of The Ramco Cements has increased 18.74% to Rs 1503.11 crore.  

Operating profit margin has declined from 35.33% to 26.60%, leading to 10.62% decline in operating profit to Rs 399.79 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) increased from 11.31% to 11.42%.   Employee cost decreased from 8.97% to 7.65%.   Other expenses rose from 44.67% to 54.16%.   Selling and administration expenses rose from 16.94% to 20.11%.   Power and Oil fuel cost rose from 14.28% to 19.17%.   Freight charges rose from 2.14% to 2.26%.   

Other income fell 5.12% to Rs 7.22 crore.  PBIDT fell 10.53% to Rs 407.01 crore.  Provision for interest rose 10.86% to Rs 29.4 crore.  Loan funds rose to Rs 3,562.65 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 2,352.84 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Inventories rose to Rs 663.98 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 652.38 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Sundry debtors were lower at Rs 410.98 crore as of 30 September 2021 compared to Rs 469.98 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Cash and bank balance rose to Rs 76.38 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 52.62 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Investments rose to Rs 308.88 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 291.47 crore as of 30 September 2020 .  

PBDT fell 11.85% to Rs 377.61 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 15.31% to Rs 98.88 crore.  Fixed assets increased to Rs 9,925.81 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 8,265.11 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Intangible assets declined from Rs 110.62 crore to Rs 100.53 crore.  

Profit before tax down 18.65% to Rs 278.73 crore.  Provision for tax was credit of Rs 240.39 crore, compared to debit of Rs 103.7 crore.  Effective tax rate was negative 86.98% compared to 29.81%.

Minority interest increased 32.86% to Rs 0.93 crore.  Net profit attributable to owners of the company increased 111.83% to Rs 515.84 crore.   

For year-to-date (YTD) results analysis.

Net sales (including other operating income) of The Ramco Cements has increased 18.35% to Rs 2737.79 crore.  

Operating profit margin has declined from 30.70% to 27.99%, leading to 7.89% rise in operating profit to Rs 766.25 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 11.80% to 11.49%.   Employee cost decreased from 9.40% to 8.12%.   Other expenses rose from 47.78% to 52.59%.   Selling and administration expenses rose from 18.26% to 19.23%.   Power and Oil fuel cost rose from 14.56% to 18.39%.   Freight charges fell from 2.44% to 2.34%.   

Other income fell 25.77% to Rs 12.53 crore.  PBIDT rose 7.11% to Rs 778.78 crore.  Provision for interest fell 4.87% to Rs 53.7 crore.  Loan funds rose to Rs 3,562.65 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 2,352.84 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Inventories rose to Rs 663.98 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 652.38 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Sundry debtors were lower at Rs 410.98 crore as of 30 September 2021 compared to Rs 469.98 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Cash and bank balance rose to Rs 76.38 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 52.62 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Investments rose to Rs 308.88 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 291.47 crore as of 30 September 2020 .  

PBDT rose 8.12% to Rs 725.08 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 14.26% to Rs 194.82 crore.  Fixed assets increased to Rs 9,925.81 crore as of 30 September 2021 from Rs 8,265.11 crore as of 30 September 2020.  Intangible assets declined from Rs 110.62 crore to Rs 100.53 crore.  

Profit before tax grew 6.03% to Rs 530.26 crore.  Provision for tax was credit of Rs 158.88 crore, compared to debit of Rs 150.28 crore.  Effective tax rate was negative 30.00% compared to 29.35%.

Minority interest increased 21.05% to Rs 1.15 crore.  Net profit attributable to owners of the company increased 90.51% to Rs 687.29 crore.  

Equity capital increased from Rs 23.56 crore as of 30 September 2020 to Rs 23.60 crore as of 30 September 2021.  Per share face Value remained same at Rs 1.00.  

Promoters' stake was 42.52% as of 30 September 2021 ,compared to 42.62% as of 30 September 2020 .  Promoters pledged stake was 13.76% as of 30 September 2021 ,compared to 11.47% as of 30 September 2020 .  

Cash flow from operating activities decreased to Rs 434.26 crore for YTD ended September 2021 from Rs 801.01 crore for YTD ended September 2020.  Cash flow used in acquiring fixed assets during the YTD ended September 2021 stood at Rs 902.65 crore, compared to Rs 685.37 crore during the YTD ended September 2020.
