|
Both volume and realisation/TEUs has increased in both EXIM & Domestic
|
|
|
|
|
|
Standalone operating income (including other operating income) of Container
Corporation of India for the quarter ended Sep 2021 has increased 21% to Rs 1823.92
crore. Operating profit margin has jumped from 20.8% to 23.4%,
leading to 36.27% rise in operating profit to Rs 426.47
crore. Employee cost decreased from 5.60% to 5.47%.
Other expenses fell from 73.57% to 71.15%. Freight
charges fell from 54.60% to 53.94%. Other direct service cost fell
from 16.26% to 14.59%. Other income up 5% to Rs 75.01
crore. PBIDT rose 31% to Rs 501.48 crore. Provision for
interest up 59% to Rs 13.52 crore. PBDT rose 30% to Rs 487.96
crore. Provision for depreciation rose 7% to Rs 136.15
crore. Profit before tax grew 42% to Rs 351.81
crore. EO expense was Rs 0.08 crore compared to nil . Thus PBT after
EO was up 41% to Rs 351.73 crore. Provision for tax was expense of Rs 87.64
crore, compared to Rs 61.02 crore. Effective tax rate was 24.92%
compared to 24.55%. Profit after tax rose 41% to Rs 264.09 crore.
Sales of Exim segment has gone up 14.39% to Rs 1,292.57 crore
(accounting for 70.87% of total sales) driven by 6% growth in volume and 8%
growth in realisation/TEUs. Sales of Domestic segment has gone up
42.56% to Rs 531.35 crore (accounting for 29.13% of total sales) with 34% jump
in volume and 7% growth in realisation/TEUs.
Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has
jumped 57.29% to Rs 330.08 crore. PBIT of Exim segment rose 46.68%
to Rs 276.23 crore (accounting for 83.69% of total PBIT). PBIT of
Domestic segment rose 150.12% to Rs 53.85 crore (accounting for 16.31% of total
PBIT).
PBIT margin of Exim segment rose from 16.67% to 21.37%. PBIT
margin of Domestic segment rose from 5.78% to 10.13%. Overall PBIT
margin rose from 13.96% to 18.10%.
Consolidated operating income for the
quarter ended Sep 2021 has increased
21.73% to Rs 1837.2 crore. Operating profit margin has jumped from
20.93% to 23.51%, leading to 36.68% rise in operating profit to Rs 431.86
crore. Eventually the net profit attributable to owners of the
company increased 37.43% to Rs 253.72 crore.
Half-yearly performance
Operating income has increased 35% to Rs 3,631.46 crore. Operating
profit margin has jumped from 17.5% to 23.7%, leading to 82% rise in operating
profit to Rs 859.99 crore. Other income up 0.32% to Rs 130.53
crore. Provision for interest up 62% to Rs 27.43
crore. Provision for depreciation rose 5% to Rs 266.47
crore. Profit before tax grew 110% to Rs 696.62 crore. EO
expense was Rs 0.08 crore compared to nil . Thus PBT after EO was up 110% to Rs
693.54 crore. Provision for tax was expense of Rs 177.58 crore, compared
to Rs 82.69 crore. Effective tax rate was 25.49% compared to 24.91%.
Profit after tax rose 108% to Rs 518.96 crore.
Sales of Exim segment has gone up 28.00% to Rs 2,599.31 crore
(accounting for 71.58% of total sales). Sales of Domestic segment
has gone up 56.10% to Rs 1,032.15 crore (accounting for 28.42% of total
sales).
Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has jumped
120.91% to Rs 666.20 crore. PBIT of Exim segment rose 113.08% to Rs
565.39 crore (accounting for 84.87% of total PBIT). PBIT of Domestic
segment rose 178.25% to Rs 100.81 crore (accounting for 15.13% of total
PBIT).
PBIT margin of Exim segment rose from 13.07% to 21.75%. PBIT
margin of Domestic segment rose from 5.48% to 9.77%. Overall PBIT
margin rose from 11.20% to 18.35%.
Consolidated operating income for the half year has
increased 35.27% to Rs 3657.14 crore. Operating profit margin has
jumped from 17.57% to 23.79%, leading to 83.15% rise in operating profit to Rs
870.06 crore. Eventually net profit attributable to owners of the
company increased 109.17% to Rs 512.95 crore.
Other
developments
The
Board of Directors has declared an Interim Dividend of ? 4 /ÂPer equity share (face
value of ? 5/Â per equity share) amounting to ? 243.72 Crore.
Equity capital stood at Rs 304.65 crore as of 30 September 2021 to
Rs 304.65 crore as of 30 September 2020. Per share face Value
remained same at Rs 5.00.
Promoters’ stake was 54.80% as of 30 September 2021, compared to
54.80% as of 30 September 2020.
Cash flow from operating activities decreased to Rs 477.05 crore
for YTD ended September 2021 from Rs 516.56 crore for YTD ended September
2020. Cash flow used in acquiring fixed assets during the YTD ended
September 2021 stood at Rs 328.13 crore, compared to Rs 269.10 crore during the
YTD ended September 2020.
