Better capacity utilization led to improved financial performance

Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys (IMFA) held a conference call to discuss its performance for the quarter ended March 2015. Senior management of the company addressed the Concall.
Highlights of the Concall

Net sales of the company rose 24% in Q4FY'15 compared to Q4FY'14 to Rs 403.19 crore while EBITDA was up 11% to Rs 85.03 crore and net profit was jumped 233% to Rs 13.15 crore. Exports was Rs 330.04 crore in Q4FY'15 vs Rs 264.37 crore in Q4FY'14

For FY'15 net sales of the company rose 2% to Rs 1344.79 crore compared to FY'14 while EBITDA was down 15% to Rs 262.9 crore and net profit fell 69% to Rs 11.98 crore. Exports was Rs 1064.37 crore in FY'15 vs Rs 1073.75 crore in FY'14

The company achieved highest ever ferro chrome production of 205203 tonne and power generation of 914 million unit in FY'15

The company achieved record ferro chrome sale of 205478 tonne in FY'15

Better capacity utilization led to improved financial performance in FY'15

The company is targeting higher output in current fiscal

The company plans part conversion of debt into foreign currency to bring down interest costs.

Prime ferro chrome realizations has come down from Rs 70866 per tonne in Q4FY'14 to Rs 66000 per tonne in Q4FY'15

Cost of production also came down to Rs 49500 per tonne in Q4FY'15 from Rs 50300 per tonne in Q4FY'14

Variable power cost came down to Rs 3.62 per unit in FY'15 from Rs 3.9 per unit in FY'14. For Q4FY'15 variable power cost was Rs 3.23 per unit down from Rs 4.7 per unit in Q4FY'14.

All major mines are operational now.
