Net sales rose by 12% year-over-year to Rs 1,452.62 crore in the second quarter. Sales volume for the period under review was 25.32 lakh tones, up 10% YoY.
The cement maker’s sales volume in the same period last year was 23.05 lakh tones.
The company said that it had achieved a clinker capacity utilization of 100% and cement capacity utilization of 73% in Q2 FY24.
PBIDT improved by 21% to Rs 193.63 crore in Q2 FY24 from Rs 160. 02 crore in Q2 FY23.
Profit before tax in Q2 FY24 stood at Rs 123.22 crore, up by 38% from Rs 89.35 crore in Q2 FY23.
Net Debt to EBIDTA for Q2 FY24 was 0.19 times as against 0.30 times in Q2 FY23. Net Debt to equity was 0.05 times for Q2 FY24 as compared with 0.09 times in Q2 FY23.
The company has taken-up for implementation setting up of additional cement grinding unit of 13.50 lakh tonnes per annum at its existing Surat Grinding Unit. Udaipur Cement Works (UCWL), the company's subsidiary, has successfully commissioned its 2nd clinker line of 1.50 million tonnes per annum in October 2023, whereby its clinker capacity has doubled to 3 million tonnes per annum. Work on the 2.50 million tonnes per annum of cement mill & packing plant is on full swing as per schedule.
Vinita Singhania, vice chairman & managing director (VC&MD) of the company, said: “The profitability of the company improved on account of higher volume, better product & sales mix and reduction in fuel cost.”
