These buses will be specially designed to ensure outstanding passenger comfort and will be equipped with the advanced iGen6 BS VI technology, featuring a robust 147 kW (197 hp) H-series engine. This engine is expected to enhance safety, comfort, and reduce the overall cost of ownership (TCO).
The said order will be executed between November 2023 to March 2024.
The company has been the most preferred brand by TN STU's with more than 18,000 Ashok Leyland buses operational in its fleet, comprising over 90% of total fleet.

Ashok Leyland is engaged in manufacture and sale of a wide range of commercial vehicles. The company also manufactures engines for industrial and marine applications, forgings and castings.
The company reported net profit of Rs 576 crore in Q1 FY24, up by more than eight times as compared with a PAT of Rs 68 crore in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 8,189 crore as against Rs 7,223 crore in Q1 FY23, up 13.4% YoY.
The scrip rose 0.63% to Rs 175.65 on the BSE.
