The power generation company said that the detailed assessment of losses/ damages suffered will be carried out after water level recedes.
The assets and loss of profit of Teesta-V Power Station (510 MW) and Teesta-VI HE Project (500 MW), being executed by Lanco Teesta Hydro Power, a WOS of the company are fully insured.
Further, all assets/ works of Teesta-VI HE project are also insured under construction all risk policy.
NHPC is the largest organization for hydropower development in India. It has also diversified in the field of solar & wind power. As of 31 March 2023, the Government of India held 70.95% stake in the company.
The company reported 0.2% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,036.86 crore on 1% fall in net sales to Rs 2,757.26 core in Q1 FY24 over Q1 FY23.
Shares of NHPC shed 0.36% to currently trade at Rs 53.03 on the BSE.
