The company stated that the alumina production at lanjigarh refinery declined 4% QoQ and 18% YoY to 3,95,000 tonnes. The cast metal aluminium production increased by 1% QoQ and 2% YoY to 5,79,000 Kilotonnes due to efficiency in the operations.
Zinc India reported record quarterly mined metal production at 2,57,000 kilotonnes, up 2% YoY on account of higher ore production, primarily at Rampura Agucha and Kayad mines, supported by improved mined metal grades and better mill recovery. In line with mine preparation activities being carried out every year in first quarter, mined metal production was lower by 15% QoQ.
The total production of Zinc International grew 1% YoY and 9% QoQ to 68,000 kilotonnes , primarily driven by BMM.
Saleable iron ore production in Karnataka declined 9% to 1.2 million tonnes in Q1 FY24 as compared with 1.3 million tonnes in Q1 FY23, due to operational inefficiency.
Total saleable production increased 20% YoY to 324kilotonnes due to higher production capacity post debottlenecking carried out in FY23. It declined 16% QoQ owing to planned annual shutdown in Q1 FY24.
