According to the company's announcement, the expanded capacity at the Hassan facility will enhance the supply of its products to all distribution points in relevant markets. Furthermore, the company can leverage this capacity expansion during the peak beer consumption season.
Som Distilleries and Breweries is primarily engaged in brewing, fermentation, bottling, canning and blending of beer and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). It also supplies draught beer from its plants.
On a consolidated basis, Som Distilleries & Breweries reported net profit of Rs 10.52 crore in Q3 December 2022 as against net loss of Rs 1.13 crore in Q3 December 2021. Net sales rose 66.12% YoY to Rs 148.51 crore in Q3 December 2022.
In the March 2023 quarter, renowned investor Dolly Khanna added Som Distilleries & Breweries to her stock portfolio. As of the end of March 2023, Khanna's holding in the company was equivalent to 953,603 shares, or 1.29%. Notably, Khanna was not among the shareholders of Som Distilleries in the previous quarter ended December 2022.
