The Nifty May 2023 futures closed at 18,113.45, a premium of 48.45 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 18,065 in the cash market.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 advanced 149.95 points or 0.84% to settle at 18,065.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, dropped 4.17% to 10.95.
Axis Bank, Reliance Industries (RIL), and Adani Enterprises were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.
The May 2023 F&O contracts will expire on 25 May 2023.
