Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders announces commissioning of lead vessel under project 15B
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders announced that the Indian Navy has commissioned its tenth destroyer on 21 November 2021, the 7400-tonne Indian Navy Ship Visakhapatnam. This is the lead vessel in a new class of four guided missile destroyers that the company is building under the project 15B for Rs 35800 crore or Rs 8950 crore per vessel.
The next three project 15B destroyers will join the Navy's fleet at one year intervals.
